A guide to sizing your transformer

To decide which transformer to use, times the bulb wattage by the amount of lights you have

Example: bulbs are 6 watt each and you have 6 lights (6watt x 6 lights = 36 watts) (+10%) we always advise to leave at least 10% of the transformer wattage rating free so in this case it would be a 60watt transformer

On older system’s that use Halogen bulbs we advise that these are changed to a LED bulb as these use less power form the transformer, are cheaper to run and the cost of the transformer is also less

Example: 20 watt halogen = approx. 3 watt Led bulb
