A guide to sizing your transformer

To decide which transformer to use, times the bulb wattage by the amount of lights you have

Example: bulbs are 3 watt each and you have 4 lights (3watt x 4 lights = 12 watts) (+10%) we always advise to leave at least 10% of the transformer wattage rating free so in this case it would be a 20watt transformer

On older system’s that use Halogen bulbs we advise that these are changed to a LED bulb, these use less power form the transformer, are cheaper to run and the cost of the transformer is also less

Example: 20 watt halogen = 3 watt Led bulb
